About the Department

The Electrical Engineering (EE) Program was established in 2007. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering. The Electrical Engineering Program produced its first graduates in the spring of 2013.

Vision and Mission

Department Vision:

Achieving leadership in various fields of electrical engineering education that qualifies the graduates to provide excellence in scientific research and community service in accordance with international standards.

Program Mission:

The Mission statement of the Electrical Engineering Program is: “To provide high-level studies allowing students to be highly skilled in engineering and scientific research to serve society with ethics and integrity through the practice of Engineering”.

Program Educational Objectives

The Electrical Engineering Program at NBU expects the graduates within a few years after graduation to achieve the following objectives:

PEO1.      Apply engineering principles and professional skills to reach career goals as well as employers’ expectations.

PEO2.    Engage in life-long professional development and continuously improve their skills to track the fast advances in technology.

PEO3.      Practice their jobs adhering to national and international standards regarding issues including health, safety, prosperity of the society, and the preservation of the environment.

Student Outcomes

  • The ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying engineering, science, and mathematics principles.
  • The ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  • The ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  • The ability to function effectively on a team whose members provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
  • The ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to conclude.
  • The ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies

The Electrical Engineering (Bachelor of Science) program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Electrical, Computer, Communications, Telecommunication(s) and Similarly Named Engineering Programs Program Criteria.

NCAAA ACCREDITATION

 

The Electrical Engineering program at the Northern Border University is accredited by the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) / National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation.
